Classic American Burger

Homemade burgers are the best. No dodgy additions, full of flavor and easy to make.


  • 2 Lb Beef Mince
  • 2 Cloves Garlic Crushed
  • 8 Bacon Slices
  • Salt & Pepper
  • 1 Tomato
  • 1 Red Onion
  • Gerkins
  • Chedar Cheese Slices
  • Spinach Leafs
  • Mayonnaise


Step 1

Mix the beef and garlic together.
Add Salt & Pepper to taste.
Take a small handful and make it into a burger shape.
Cover and chill in the fridge for 15 - 30 min before cooking.

Step 2

Cook your bacon & set aside.
Boil a little water & dissolve a few spoons of sugar then add your onions.
(This reduces the strong flavor of the onions and adds a little sweetness.)

Step 3

Rub a little oil on the outside of your burgers and cook for about 5-6 min on each side under the grill.

Step 4

To give yourself time have your oven preheated and put the bacon and burgers in the oven to keep warm around 100°C

Step 5

Toast your buns.
Then add a layer of mayonnaise
Spinach leaves
Tomato Ketchup / BBQ sauce (whatever you prefer)

Step 6

Serve with a side salad / wedges or chips.
